About Safe Treks
I started Safe Treks because I wanted to feel confident every time I hitched up and pulled out of the driveway. Like a lot of people who tow, I found myself juggling numbers: curb weight, GVWR, GCVWR, tongue weight, and everything I planned to bring along, from coolers and gear to the kids and the dog. The ratings were scattered across door stickers, manuals, and spec sheets, and none of it added up in one place until I did the math myself on scraps of paper.
That frustration turned into this tool. I wanted one simple page where I could enter my vehicle and trailer ratings, add what's going in the cab, the bed, and the trailer, and see right away how much capacity I had left. It also made planning easier as our family's adventures grew, because I could test a bigger load on paper before ever hooking up, and make decisions with real numbers instead of guesses.
I built Safe Treks for people like me: families, weekend adventurers, first-time towers, and anyone who'd rather plan ahead than wonder. It's a planning aid, not a safety certification, so always check your manufacturer's documentation and confirm real-world weights on a scale. But if it helps you feel a little more prepared and a lot more relaxed before your next trek, then it's done its job. Questions or feedback are always welcome at ted@safe-treks.com.
